Film actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha recited few couplets of this ghazal of Dushyant Kumar recently in a book release function. This ghazal is perfect satire on current political and social situation of the country right now. Where self boosting posters are hiding the broken walls, people are killed/beaten for following particular religion and even those who are speaking truth are targeted by followers of a leader or organization. Dushyant believed that once the countrymen are restless for change; the change will come. I have tried to translate this ghazal to be understand by wider audience. अब किसी को भी नज़र आती नहीं कोई दरार,
घर की हर दीवार पर चिपके हैं इतने इश्तहार।
Ab Kisi Ko Bhi Nazar Aati Nahin Koi Daraar,
Ghar Ki Har Diwar Par Chipke Hain Itne Ishtehar.

Now nobody sees any crack on the wall,
So many posters are pasted on house's wall.

आप बच कर चल सकें ऐसी कोई सूरत नहीं,
रहगुज़र घेरे हुए मुर्दे खड़े हैं बेशुमार।
Aap Bach Kar Chal Sakein Aisi Koi Surat Nahin,
Rehguzar Ghere Hue Murde Khadein Hain Beshumar.

There is no way you can escape through,
Countless dead bodies on path has blocked you.

रोज़ अखबारों में पढ़कर यह ख़्याल आया हमें,
इस तरफ़ आती तो हम भी देखते फ़स्ल-ऐ-बहार।
Roz Akhbaron Mein Padkar Yeh Khayal Aaya Hamein,
Is Tarah Aati To Hum Bhi Dekhte Fasl-e-Bahar.

A thought struck after daily reading the newspaper tricks,
I can also see the springtime if it came like this.

मैं बहुत कुछ सोचता रहता हूँ पर कहता नहीं,
बोलना भी है मना सच बोलना तो दरकिनार।
Mein Bahut Kuch Sochta Rehta Hun Par Kehta Nahin,
Bolna Bhi Hai Mana Sach Bolna To Darkinaar.

I keep thinking a lot but don't say anything,
when talking is forbidden, leave aside truth speaking.

इस सिरे से उस सिरे तक सब शरीक-ऐ-जुर्म हैं,
आदमी या तो ज़मानत पर रिहा है या फ़रार।
Is Sire Se Us Sire Tak Sab Sharik-e-Jurm Hain,
Aadmi Ya To Zamanat Par Riha Hai Ya Farar.

From this end to that end all are involved in crime,
a person is either released on bail or is fugitive prime.

हालत-ऐ-इन्सान पर बरहम न हों अहल-ऐ-वतन,
वो कहीं से ज़िन्दगी भी माँग लायेंगे उधार।
Halat-e-Insaan Par Barham Na Hon Ahl-e-Watan,
Wo Kahin Se Zindagi Bhi Mang Layenge Udhaar.

Countrymen don't be angry on condition of human everywhere,
if require they can even borrow life from somewhere.

रौनक़-ऐ-जन्नत ज़रा भी मुझको रास आई नहीं,
मैं जहन्नुम में बहुत ख़ुश था मेरे परवरदिगार।
Raunaq-e-Jannat Zara Bhi Mujhko Ras Aayee Nahin,
Mein Jahannum Mein Bahut Kush Tha Mere Parwardigar.

Elegance of heaven never apt me,
My lord, in hell I was more than happy.

दस्तकों का अब किवाड़ों पर असर होगा ज़रूर,
हर हथेली ख़ून से तर और ज़्यादा बेक़रार।
Dastakon Ka Ab Kiwadon Par Asar Hoga Zaroor,
Har Hatheli Khoon Se Tar Aur Zyada Bekarar.

The knocks will now have definite impact on the door,
Every palm is soaked in blood and is eager more.
